Just for beginning
Fame or Self: which is dearer?
Self or wealth: which is more valuable?
Profit or loss: which is more painful?
Great love incurs great expense,
And great wealth incurs great theft,
But great contentment incurs no loss.
Therefore:
He who knows when to stop
Does not continue into danger,
And may long endure.
Contentment,Lao

AND an old priest said, Speak to us of
Religion.
And he said:
Have I spoken this day of aught else?
Is not religion all deeds and all reflection,
And that which is neither deed nor reflection,
but a wonder and a surprise ever
springing in the soul, even while the hands
hew the stone or tend the loom?
Who can separate his faith from his actions,
or his belief from his occupations?
Who can spread his hours before him, saying,
"This for God and this for myself;
This for my soul, and this other for mybody?"
All your hours are wings that beat through space from self to self.
He who wears his morality but as his best garment were better naked.
The wind and the sun will tear no holes in his skin.
And he who defines his conduct by ethics
imprisons his song-bird in a cage.
The freest song comes not through bars and wires.
And he to whom worshiping is a window, to open but also to shut,
has not yet visited the house of his soul whose windows are from dawn to dawn.
Your daily life is your temple and your religion.
Whenever you enter into it take with you your all.
Take the plough and the forge and the mallet and the lute,
The things you have fashioned in necessity or for delight.
For in revery you cannot rise above your
achievements nor fall lower than your failures.
And take with you all men:
For in adoration you cannot fly higher
than their hopes nor humble yourself lower
than their despair.
And if you would know God be not
therefore a solver of riddles.
Rather look about you and you shall see
Him playing with your children.
And look into space; you shall see Him
walking in the cloud, outstretching His arms
in the lightning and descending in rain.
You shall see Him smiling in flowers,
then rising and waving His hands in trees.

Psalm 77
For Jeduthun, the choir director: A psalm of Asaph.
1 I cry out to God without holding back.
Oh, that God would listen to me!
2 When I was in deep trouble,
I searched for the Lord.
All night long I pray, with hands lifted toward heaven, pleading.
There can be no joy for me until he acts.
3 I think of God, and I moan,
overwhelmed with longing for his help.
4 You don't let me sleep.
I am too distressed even to pray!
5 I think of the good old days, long since ended,
6 when my nights were filled with joyful songs.
I search my soul and think about the difference now.
7 Has the Lord rejected me forever?
Will he never again show me favor?
8 Is his unfailing love gone forever?
Have his promises permanently failed?
9 Has God forgotten to be kind?
Has he slammed the door on his compassion?
10 And I said, "This is my fate,
that the blessings of the Most High have changed to hatred."
11 I recall all you have done, O LORD;
I remember your wonderful deeds of long ago.
12 They are constantly in my thoughts.
I cannot stop thinking about them.
13 O God, your ways are holy.
Is there any god as mighty as you?
14 You are the God of miracles and wonders!
You demonstrate your awesome power among the nations.
15 You have redeemed your people by your strength,
the descendants of Jacob and of Joseph by your might.
16 When the Red Sea[1]saw you, O God,
its waters looked and trembled!
The sea quaked to its very depths.
17 The clouds poured down their rain;
the thunder rolled and crackled in the sky.
Your arrows of lightning flashed.
18 Your thunder roared from the whirlwind;
the lightning lit up the world!
The earth trembled and shook.
19 Your road led through the sea,
your pathway through the mighty waters--
a pathway no one knew was there!
20 You led your people along that road like a flock of sheep,
with Moses and Aaron as their shepherds.

tentang 'Suka cita'
Ada tertulis :
Aku meminta kekuatan supaya aku berhasil
Ia membuat aku lemah supaya aku taat
aku meminta kesehatan supaya aku dapat melakukan hal-hal
yang lebih besar
aku diberi kasih karunia supaya aku dapat melakukan
hal-hal yang lebih baik
aku meminta kekayaan supaya aku bahagia
aku diberi kemiskinan supaya aku menjadi bijaksana
aku meminta kekuasaan supaya aku mendapat pujian dari
sesama
aku diberi kelemahan supaya aku merasa perlunya Tuhan
aku meminta segala sesuatu supaya aku dapat menikmati
kehidupan ini
aku diberi kehidupan supaya aku dapat menikmati segala
sesuatu
Mengapa
saat aku mengira aku tidak berteman Engkau dekat
aku kesepian Engkau menjamahku
saat kupikir diriku hebat,
kau perlihatkan bagian terlemah dalam diriku : egoku
bahkan saat aku tidak bisa makan
kau beri aku berkat
......
saat aku takut,
saat keyakinan akan ketidakmampuan begitu besar
saat kurasa impianku menjadi sandunganku
campur tanganMu,ke'Ada'anMu;
selalu membuatku tunduk...malu....bahkan hampir kumenangis
